jCollapsible is a perfect plugin for building toggle controllers for collpasing and expanding a nested structure.

The plugin was designed to work with HTML lists, but this doesn't mean that simple nested text tree structures can be collapsed.

More complex HTML structure can be placed inside the list element itself, for collapsing and expanding bigger areas of the page.

A demo is included with the download package.
